I can understand why the other person may feel hurt by the uncertainty. That does not make either of you a bad person, but continuing without a clear and honest conversation is likely to cause more pain.

five years is a lifetime of being treated like a placeholder. honestly, fuck that person for wasting your time and making you feel invisible. cut your losses and block them, it feels like shit now but it is better than another day of this.
