We don't promise you'll stay together. We don't promise you'll part.

We promise you'll finally know.

## The outcome isn't a resolution. It's clarity.

Most relationship programmes promise to fix things. We won't, because in the grey zone that promise is part of the problem: one more reason to wait, one more "let's see where it goes". Six Weeks to Clarity makes a different promise: at the end, you will know whether there is a future here. Not because a test says you're compatible, but because the two of you will finally know whether you actually want the same things from each other, at this time.

That's why there's one agreement before anything begins, made by everyone taking part: _clarity may mean an ending, and we accept whatever comes out of this._ It sounds frightening. It's actually the kindest thing either of you will ever agree to, because it means no more limbo. Whatever happens in these six weeks, the grey zone ends.

## Three ways in

You can do this together, or alone, if you already know what you want, or your partner isn't ready to join you. Each path gets its own plan.

### I want more

You know what you want: commitment, a label, a future. This path helps you understand why you've stayed so long without it, name your minimum acceptable terms, and prepare to ask the hardest questions with the right language.

### I'm not ready

You're not ready, or you're not sure. This path helps you get honest about what 'ready' would actually take, whether 'not ready' really means 'not this person', and how to be kind either way. You are not the villain here. But you do have a decision to make.

### We're doing this together

Both of you, side by side, each with your own private workspace and a shared journey. One promise made up front: whatever clarity we find, we accept it, even if it's an ending. The bravest way through.

## The six stages

Six weeks, on purpose. Even if you finish tasks early, the journey is staged, because clarity that arrives slowly is clarity that stays.

Week 1

### Where are we, really?

You start with the truth. How long has this been going on? Has it always been undefined, or did it change somewhere along the way? You'll write an honest history of this relationship, and of your past romantic relationships and family relationships, because the patterns that brought you here didn't start here.

Week 2

### Who are you, and why do you stay?

Your situationship profile (Healer, Optimist, Drifter, Avoidant or Loyalist) and your attachment style, drawn from your relationship history and your upbringing. How past relationships ended, how you communicate, what you avoid. You can't change a pattern you can't see.

Week 3

### What do you want from each other?

Not from an imaginary future partner. From each other, right now. Chosen honestly from a predefined list that covers both sides, including 'I don't want commitment', 'I don't want a label', and crucially, 'I'm not ready' as distinct from 'I don't want'. Honesty here is the whole point.

Week 4

### The future compatibility test

The deepest part of the programme. Values, politics, family, marriage, children and step-children, living together, money, holidays, free time, how much time together and apart, rated for importance, dealbreakers named. For each one, you also reflect on your own life: you might hate how much they work, and so might they.

Week 5

### The hard questions

If they're not committing, why have you stayed so long, with all those needs unmet? And if you're 'not ready': not ready for what, exactly, and by when? 'More time' is not an answer. Is 'not ready' really 'I already know, but I'm not ready to let go of the companionship'? That is not the same thing. Be kind. These questions have to be asked.

Week 6

### Clarity

The full compatibility report, side by side. The minimum acceptable terms from the person who wants more. Specific, reasonable adjustments, real KPIs of readiness rather than vague promises, from our suggestions as a platform. And then two honest choices: accept the terms, or give the kindest gift there is, a clear, final goodbye that lets the other person move on.

## What this is

- A structured, staged six-week journey with the right language for the hardest conversations
- A deeply detailed compatibility report covering values, future, family, time, money and dealbreakers
- Attachment style analysis built from your real relationship and family history
- Specific, reasonable definitions of what 'ready' would take: real KPIs, not 'more time'
- An honest ending to the grey zone, whichever way it goes

## What this isn't

- A trick to pressure anyone into commitment
- A promise that you'll end up together
- A breakup service, because endings only happen when they're the honest answer
- Couples therapy or a substitute for professional support
- Another way to buy 'more time' in the grey zone

The Evidence

## What This Programme Is Built On

Each programme draws on established research across relationship science, cognitive and behavioural psychology, attachment, learning and emotion regulation. The specific evidence base differs according to the psychological processes the programme is designed to address.

01 · Research Area

### Relationship Science

Relationship research distinguishes emotional attachment and attraction from factors associated with relationship functioning, including responsiveness, reciprocity, commitment, communication, compatibility and the management of interdependence.

Application in This Programme

Six Weeks to Clarity deliberately separates the question 'Do I have strong feelings for this person?' from 'Does the relationship available to us meet the requirements of both people?'

02 · Research Area

### Attachment Activation

Perceived threats to relationship availability can activate attachment-related behavioural strategies. Higher attachment anxiety is associated with heightened monitoring and reassurance-seeking, while avoidant strategies can involve deactivation, distancing or reduced reliance on closeness.

Application in This Programme

Participants examine their responses to uncertainty without being assigned simplistic labels such as 'the anxious one' or 'the avoidant one'.

03 · Research Area

### Uncertainty & Intolerance of Uncertainty

Uncertainty can increase cognitive load, vigilance and repetitive attempts to obtain information. Difficulty tolerating uncertainty is associated across psychological research with worry, checking and repetitive thinking.

Application in This Programme

The programme replaces indefinite interpretation with structured observation, explicit questions and defined decision points.

04 · Research Area

### Rumination

Rumination involves repetitive attention to distress, its causes and its implications without necessarily producing effective problem-solving. Repeated analysis can therefore feel productive while maintaining emotional attention on an unresolved problem.

Application in This Programme

Participants are moved from repeated interpretation of messages, behaviour and hypothetical futures towards questions that can actually be answered and decisions that can actually be made.

05 · Research Area

### Intermittent Reinforcement & Reward Learning

Learning research demonstrates that behaviour can become persistent when reinforcement is inconsistent or unpredictable. Human intimate relationships are substantially more complex than experimental reinforcement schedules, but reward-learning principles provide a useful framework for examining repeated cycles of anticipation, withdrawal and relief.

Application in This Programme

The programme examines whether unpredictable periods of closeness or reassurance have increased attention to the relationship and made temporary improvement disproportionately persuasive.

06 · Research Area

### Decision-Making & Cognitive Bias

Decision-making can be influenced by sunk costs, loss aversion, selective attention, anticipated regret and the weighting of emotionally salient recent events.

Application in This Programme

Participants examine the whole pattern rather than allowing the most recent good weekend, argument, promise or withdrawal to determine the meaning of the relationship.

07 · Research Area

### Needs, Values & Compatibility

Compatibility is not reducible to similarity. Relationship functioning depends partly on whether important needs, values, expectations and future intentions can coexist without requiring chronic self-suppression by either person.

Application in This Programme

The programme requires participants to identify essentials, preferences and genuine areas of flexibility before deciding whether the relationship available is sufficient.

08 · Research Area

### Behaviour Change

Insight does not reliably produce behavioural change on its own. Behaviour-change models emphasise repeated action, environmental structure, feedback and the translation of intention into specific behaviour.

Application in This Programme

This is why Six Weeks to Clarity uses daily tasks, observations, conversations, written decisions and behavioural homework rather than functioning as a compatibility questionnaire.

Why Six Weeks?

Six weeks is a programme-design interval, not a claimed biological or psychological threshold. It provides repeated observations across time and reduces the likelihood that a consequential relationship decision is based entirely on an acute emotional state or isolated interaction.

The objective is not reconciliation or separation. The outcome measure is greater clarity supported by evidence from the relationship itself.

## At the end, there are two choices.

The person who has been holding back can accept the terms: the minimum this relationship needs to continue at all, combined with our platform's specific, reasonable suggestions for what readiness looks like.

Or they can finally give the other person the clarity and closure they need: a clear statement that they don't see a future, and the freedom to move on. Both choices are honest. Both end the grey zone. That's the point.
